On the upside, I'm learning to play the guitar which hasn't turned out to be as hard as I assumed it would be. I realized as I was washing my hands a few minutes ago that I can't really feel the fingertips of my left hand, but I'm kind of addicted to pulling out my friend Travis' guitar and strummin' away at it...when I can get a free 15 minutes of course. It is so peaceful to sit alone and sing/play for a bit--it definitely calms a person down. And the fact that typing is putting my fingers into a fair amount of pain is just the small price one pays for talent.
I'm actually sitting in the Tabernacle right now, watching Skit Night happen. Skit Night is a... special event. If there are skits by counselors and program, they are usually worth a good laugh. If there are skits by campers, there is a lot of awkward silence and "Is it done? Was that the punch line? " moments. Last week there was a skit in which (as far as I can tell) two girls were shopping for clothes when an old woman came on stage, in what turned into a fight for a purple bra involving beatings with a cane.
All that was going through my mind was, "Why. Is. There. A. Bra. On. Stage."
There was a lot of giggling coming from the little boys.
There were a lot of mouths h
There was one big glare aimed toward Rebekah from the Program Director.
And a good time was had by all.
Today, my friend Britta and I decided to get away from camp during my off-session and went for a drive. That drive turned into us parking at a little chapel and hiking to the firetower on Peekaboo Mountain. The fire tower has long been out of use for fire-watch, but is now just a place to look over the land and check out the view.
It was a nice little hike--took about 20 minutes to walk across a couple fields and get up the "mountain".
These are just a couple pictures from the top of the tower, and the view straight down.
I often (more often than not, actually) forget how blessed I am to spend the summer in such a beautiful state.

Great pictures! What a pretty place. I bet your family is ready to have you back home, too. :) Three months is a looong time.
